New iPods.

Needed something to bitch about - I guess Apple's 9/9/09 iPod announcement of sorts would have to do.

The fifth generation nano has (according to the Gizmodo article),

• Video camera (640x480) - why?
• NO STILL CAMERA - erm, okay...
• Integrated mic - can't have soundless video now, right?
• Integrated speaker - hmmm...
• FM Radio!!!!! That you can pause!! And iTunes tag! - Right...
• One-click YouTube uploads (through your computer) - Useful for some people, not so much for the rest of us
• Voice Over like Shuffle - why would I use this again?
• Pedometer with Nike+ syncing online - handy, but not likely to use all that much.
• Voice Recorder - ditto.
• 2.2-inch screen that's .2 inches larger than last model - great for the video podcasts I suppose...

Three words - WTF.

I think I prefer the matte finish of the previous generation than the shiny fifth generation - imagine all the fingerprint and scratch potential.

The shuffle is now available in 2GB form and in five colours. Hmph.
