Finally got to check out Zazen Health Solutions in Hartamas yesterday afternoon with Mum for the free trial with the last of the vouchers I won from last year. It was damn difficult calling the place to make an appointment, but I found the proprietor's mobile number....
Anyway, drove round Desa Sri Hartamas in circles before I finally found the place (it's been awhile since I last looked up directions) and in the nick of time.
Ms. Lidia was nice enough to explain the benefits of the FIR (Far Infrared Rays) treatment and for someone who's not usually swayed by stuff like this, Mum was doing a good job of being convinced (which she might be, for all I know). I'm not gonna bore myself (or anyone else) about the benefits, so I won't. Just Google it. Or check out this article here.
The usual session is half an hour in the box, sweating it out. In the nude. Because the boxes are in individual rooms, there is privacy. It's not something you do if you have issues with claustrophobia, nudity and sweating. The recommended 45 degrees Celcius was plenty hot enough for me and I was sweating buckets soon enough. Mum claims she didn't really feel the heat in hers (I did the smart thing and requested for separate rooms), but she did get the one with less strength (so I've been told).
I missed the part where one wasn't supposed to shower immediately after, to let the body cool down naturally. Whoops.
One 30-minute session is the equivalent of burning 600 calories, allegedly the same as running 9km. I would rather do this than actually run the 9km, but that's just me.
It costs RM30 per session, but there are packages you could take up...
If you're curious, you could always sign up for a free trial at an outlet near you.
