Free movies at Cathay Cineplex, e@Curve

Decided to watch a couple of free movies, thanks to an ad in today's paper - Cathay Cineplexes is celebrating its 75th anniversary, so there was 7,500 tickets to give away - for a pair of free tickets to any show at any Cathay Cineplex in the country.

Because I was there alone, the guy at the counter told me that I could pick TWO movies to watch. Couldn't get Despiscable Me without having to wait a few hours, so I settled on... yes, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Predators. There wasn't much else that I wanted to watch that was available at the time, anyway. You get what you paid for :P

I never saw the first couple of movies on principle, so I have nothing to compare, but I was laughing through this one while I heard sniffing on my right.
  • I never expected Charlie (Bella's dad) to be so young - I never got that impression going through the books.
  • I also have to say that Bella's engagement ring (yes, they're engaged if you don't already know) wasn't the prettiest ring that I've ever seen; at the same time I can't believe that people can buy the ring for their own loved ones. I don't know about you, but if I ever got that ring from someone, I'd throw it back. But that's just me.
  • I only heard the Muse song for about a few seconds in the movie, so that was disappointing... if I had liked the song or the fact that it was specifically for the movie.
  • Why is it that the guy wolves are shirtless in human form and the girl-wolf has a top on? Wouldn't her top be ripped up everytime she transforms? Think about it.
  • There's only so many Kristen Stewart extremely tight closeups on her face that I can stand - I think people know her freckles betterthan she does by now.
Predators

I've never seen the other Predator movies, and I didn't sit through THIS entire movie - missed some of the beginning because a person's got to eat. Got too chicken and left about 2/3 through this one.
  • I personally have never seen Adrien Brody in a movie, but him in an action movie is the same as how I feel about Nicolas Cage being in an action movie - huh? really? My next thing was: does he really sound like that in real life? Sadly, didn't see him shirtless.
  • Every time I see Topher Grace, I keep thinking, "the weenie with no gun", cos I still think of him as Eric Forman.
