I plonked down the RM6 to see Inception because, if nothing else, Christopher Nolan is great at making excellent mindfuck movies, like Memento. And I'll say this upfront: I am not a fan of DiCaprio, which was my initial reason for not wanting to see this when the buzz first started way back when.
The plot I cannot go on too much about because you can find that out youself. Visually, I thought it was great for a movie not made in 3D. It's the kind of movie you cannot not use special visual effects on. I also don't usually pay too much attention to the musical score in movies unless something sounds vaguely familiar, but I thought the score was pretty spot on; it brought on the right amount of suspense where it was needed. If you've seen it you know what I mean. More importantly, I actually paid ATTENTION to it.
I'm usually only excited about seeing the supporting actors than the top billers, I was a bit more excited to see Michael Caine, even if he was on screen for less than 5 minutes total. My only question was if he was grandfather to DiCaprio's kids in the movie, does that make him the dead wife's father, or his? This was the only thing I was confused about, and his character is only listed by first name on the IMDb page. Smart.
I thought DiCaprio was oh-kay in this one, but then again I've never paid to watch a movie he's been in before, so there's that.
I also haven't seen Joseph-Gordon Levitt in anything since Third Rock from the Sun
, but I thought his character Arthur wasn't too shabby, despite not having an imagination (heh) as one other character has mentioned.
I don't know about you, but even before I read about it somewhere, isn't it a bit obvious that Marion Cotillard's character name (Mal) was a dead (pun not intended) giveaway that she would serve an antagonistic role in the movie to DiCaprio's Cobb? Mal-icious, mal-estrom; the word means BAD or EVIL in Latin - HELLO?!

If you like Christopher Nolan and no one else in the cast, I said go watch it for the mindfuck factor. I only managed to sit through nearly 2 and a half hours because I didn't buy a drink.
Click on these links only after watching the movie, or if you don't care about spoilers: An Illustrated Guide to Inception, and Inception Explained: Unraveling The Dream Within The Dream. The comments are interesting, if a bit repetitive with regards to certain supporting characters.
