Week 28, 2010

  • Saw 3 movies this week (Inception, Eclipse, and Predators), something I've never done before.
  • Friday lunch at this Indian stall (Kavitha's; that I've never knew of, let alone been to before) in PJ Old Town (at the hawker centre next to the market) where my dad claims is cheap compared to Kanna and the other establishments. I thought it was okay, though I totally didn't know and probably should've ordered some fried bitter gourd if Dad didn't already order a lot of different things. Here's someone's blog review of the place - I concur with some of the other reviews about how friendly the owner is.
  • Sibling finally got a job, but only starting next month as he's still got graduation to deal with and getting a car so that Dad doesn't have to drive his ass to Mont Kiara every day.
  • Wasted some time on GetGlue.com - which kinda works like foursquare, but a bit less creepy - you get to like and then "check in" to forms of media like movies, music, TV shows, etc. But at least you get actual stickers of what you've earned checking in and doing other stuff around the site.
  • Decided not to go to this year's MTV World Stage - it was hard enough last year getting someone to go with me - and it's gonna be on TV a few weeks after, so screw it.
  • Got some more sample sized stuff at 1U this weekend, this time Himalaya.
  • Tried out the tea time special at La Manila (RM7.80 for slice of cake and tea/coffee) Friday with the sibling; the cake I chose was so filling that it kinda spoiled dinner for me later. At that price I was glad that the hot drinks were not just Nescafe or Lipton/BOH tea bags.
  • Speaking of Lipton, I'm just halfway through James Lipton's memoir, Inside Inside after starting on it months ago, about where he starts talking about the beginnings of Inside the Actors' Studio, which I miss watching.
  • After weeks of scouring the interwebs for new, quality (at least) sunglasses, I bought a pair of  polarised Ray-bans for under RM200.
  • Took me over 20 years to find out what my blood type is - O+
  • Got approved for the Google Affliate Network - still  stumbling my way through, but it has been a few days since the approval.
