Lunch today was at Betty's Midwest Kitchen in Aman Suria. Fortunately, not on my dime, haha...
Was filling in at Dad's office when he decided to go for lunch around noon - he only decided on Aman Suria because parking was easier. But I managed to get him to try out Betty's because I'm evil like that, bwahaha.
Poring through the menu I'm reminded of the American food that I sort of miss from time to time whenever I watch Adam Richman stuff his face on Man v. Food
. Their whole point was that the menu consists of various Midwestern food, which is carb-loaded because of the brutally cold winters.
Only things I think are missing from the Midwestern experience is walleye (state fish of both Minnesota and South Dakota) and honey mustard, but I'm just being nitpicky
I ordered a pulled pork burger (topped with diced onions between burger buns; which comes with a mayo-less coleslaw and fries, and yes, it is a non-halal joint) and Dad got the Crispy Fried Chicken (that came with creamy mashed potatoes and peas). The pork was nice, but no thanks to my small appetite, I finished everything else but the bun :P
Like some of the other bloggers who have blogged about the place, I would also recommend the lemonade.
