After some hem-ming and haw-ing, I finally bought one of the limited Starbucks Pike Place mugs at the second home store, because I could offset the RM42 price tag with my ONECARD points, and there were only a few left and the other siren design was already sold out at that particular store. So what the heck.
As I was paying for it, the barista asked for my Jusco card (that you can use in Starbucks stores around the country for 10% discount on food, drink and merchandise), so they applied that discount on top of the RM20 in ONECARD points. All the other baristas there were standing around watching it unfold.
RM42 - (RM20 + RM4.20) = RM17.80
Yes, I only paid RM17.80 for the mug. As Charlie Sheen would put it - WINNING!
If anyone remembered last year's mug, it was brown on the outside and white on the inside, which is also nice and I have that one as well.
Luckily they packed it in a white box (which one of them said there might not be any, which was stupid because how were the things shipped to begin with, then?) and in a new siren logo paper bag (yes, I love and collect the paper bags as well).
Now to find the other all brown siren design that was selling for RM38... If anyone has seen that one in any PJ store, do let me know.
