Taste Test: Ben & Jerry's Imagine Whirled Peace

I've had my share of Ben & Jerry's ice cream pints back in my student days in America (once I got a nth hand fridge for my dorm room), because even at RM3.80 to the dollar, they were about RM12-13 a pint, whereas it's double that here. I know, I know. So I haven't had too many pints ever since I came back, which was just as well for my waistline and wallet's sake, and have only had the odd scoop at the Ben & Jerry's scoop shops in Singapore whenever I'm there.

I was browsing the ice cream section of Jaya Grocer last weekend when I saw Ben & Jerry's Late Night Snack, Jimmy Fallon's ice cream. Then I saw there was a John Lennon tribute called Imagine Whirled Peace. Took some hem-ming and haw-ing, but in the end, I went with the latter. The only reason why I bought it at all was because they were selling for a few ringgit cheaper than the other supermarkets.

Flavour: Imagine Whirled Peace

What's in it? "A caramel and sweet cream based ice cream with toffee cookies and chocolate peace signs"

Two cents: I never thought I would like these ingredients swirled together, but it's really not bad. I can discern the caramel and the sweet cream, and I almost never found the toffee cookie pieces, but it's there. They were not stingy with the fudge peace signs either (which are about the size of a button sized battery), which I thought were just adorable - a pity I had to eat them up. HAHA. My dad also helped himself to some of it, and he's about as Chinaman as Chinamen can be.

Oh, and when you finish the pint (which is fairly quickly), you will find John Lennon quotes on the inside of the tub.

If you find this in your freezer, try it.

Next flavour to try: Jimmy Fallon's Late Night Snack - but I wouldn't hold my breath as it might take some time. I wonder if Schweddy Balls will make its way to Malaysia..
