Chef

Got tickets to an early screening of Jon Favreau's Chef at the second home TGV (which is the only local cinema chain carrying it as it's technically an indie movie).

From IMDb..
A chef who loses his restaurant job starts up a food truck in an effort to reclaim his creative promise, while piecing back together his estranged family.
  • The food porn. OH THE FREAKING FOOD PORN
  • Yes, it's Jon Favreau doing the cooking
  • Robert Downey Jr only shows up about an hour into it as the ex-wife's ex-husband and probably on screen for about 10 minutes tops.
  • I don't have real complaints about the use of social media in this movie - Facebook, Twitter, Vine, most of the big ones are in there (can't remember if Instagram is in there). Love how the tweets go out too.
  • The kid teaching his old man social media - so cute.
  • Didn't see Roy Choi (who served as the food consultant) in the movie at all. I totally missed it.
  • Cornstarch on the balls. I suppose one could do that in a pinch...
  • Amuse-douche. Haha.
  • But it was hard to miss Russell Peters (who plays the Miami cop).
Kind of saw the ending coming. But a fun movie all the same. Not sure if the F-bombs will be kept in after this screening.

Go see this. Just eat before doing so.
