Aquaman

For the life of me, I can't remember if I ever saw the old school Aquaman or the Super Friends cartoon back in the day like I did with the Marvel ones. But yeah, for decades Aquaman has always been the butt of pop culture's jokes (especially on Robot Chicken) because it seems like all he can do is talk to fish.

Which was why they were shrewd in having the really shredded Jason Momoa be Aquaman, to dispel that image out of people's heads.
  • Am I the only one that recognised that bit of Sigur Ros music in the cold open?
  • Also, Nicole Kidman's fight scene is pretty snazzy, considering how little time she had to prepare for it.
  • How did Randall Park score a gig in both MCU and DCEU lah?
  • Giggled every time I see Dolph Lundgren on screen as Mera's dad with his fade of red hair (in case you missed the resemblance?). Never mind that the man is quite smart IRL.
  • If we haven't seen that mother twist in Ant-Man and the Wasp, I would say that's a really good reappearance of Atlanna...
  • Did anyone seriously thought that Atlanna was gonna go in the Trench without a fight?
  • For once, Willem Dafoe wasn't the foe.
  • I forgot that Julie Andrews had a voice part in this movie... guess where.
  • Have to like that the Karathen likes to give sick burns to whoever tries to claim the trident first before fighting them off like flies. I suppose when you have all that time to think them up... Actually how did it know about Arthur if it had been in that uncharted territory for thousands of years?
  • I was half expecting Atlan to be a zombie and have one last fight or something. Cis.
  • The subtitles suddenly changed to bahasa istana toward the end...
  • Of course they had to reveal the iconic Aquaman look....
  • Have to like that they have a line to explain why they can breath on the surface (only higher born Atlanteans can) and how to disable the Atlantean troops that came to shore...
  • Was I the only one that suddenly had a seafood craving when they invaded the Kingdom of the Brine? So much crab...
