Third hotel on this street in Singapore, and the one I've wanted to try out (because unlike some other properties on this street, newly renovated) - Hotel Mi.
Getting there: Either exit at Bencoolen station is fine.
Checking in: By the time it took me to clear immigration, etc, I was just in time for their official 2 p.m. check in. They just asked for passport and was issued two key cards. Security was standard in that you need to tap the key card on the panel in the lift before you hit the floor number.
Room: Got a room on the third floor just steps away from the lifts, which I was initially concerned about (noise level), but felt that it was really quiet for the most part. It's plenty of room for one person, I don't know about two. The window faces onto the street (and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts), which is fine. The blackout shades worked as advertised. The air cond was quiet and not terribly cold. There's also "modern" features like bed side plug point (only on one side, though) and USB power points by the hot drink making area (which I didn't try to see if it was fast charging or not). Like V Hotel, you get the room's WiFi password on the TV home screen when you turn it on.
Complimentary use |
Sleep: Slept okay considering I was sleeping in three-hour blocks. Pillows could be firmer.
Wouldn't mind coming back, I guess.
