Week 30, 2020

Rainy weather this past week. Who's glad that next week got 3 day weekend?

Toe sitch: Stitches (yes, plural) finally came off, so yay! But it still looks kinda beat up and I still need to keep a plaster on cos it's still oozy...? Here's hoping that I don't have to see the surgeon again too soon, cos as far as he's concerned, we're done. And his consult fee is too rich for my blood. I also submitted my receipts to the insurance agency for the pre- and post-hospitalization claims.

The cast protectors I got for the foot finally arrived this week (don't ask me why I never thought to get one earlier), and they're totally worth the money if you can get at least one. But for some reason, something like this is not available in the local pharmacies? I got mine off Shopee - one from China, the other from a shop out of state. Ok, I saw la got in the hospital store, but I (kinda) refuse to pay the markup.
  • Finally had a teppanyaki meal after many years (had food poisoning from teppanyaki YEARS ago, which I didn't know was possible given the preparation method, but yeah).
  • Saw the realtime Zoom production of Alfian Sa'at's play Parah. The only issue with watching plays online is the distraction factor...
  • They've announced the indefinite delay of both Tenet and Mulan
  • Checked out the second round Valiram sale, this time it was at Sunway Lagoon Hotel and Resort which I've never been to in my life (I KNOW!). Came away with my wallet and credit limit mostly intact - I only bought a mocha from the Godiva booth outside the hall.
  • Took the gahmen this long to make mask-wearing while outside mandatory... starting next month. It's more to do with the rise in cases after people who are supposed to be serving home quarantine were found out and about like nothing's wrong, and other people no longer social distancing or wearing masks out. No more home quarantine - people have to go serve them at the quarantine centres and pay for it out of their own pockets.
  • Biggest and funniest U-turn this week was FINAS saying that people who want to post FB/IG stories, etc would have to apply for a license and pay 50K per post? Which then kena u-turn khau khau once everyone and their grandmother let them have a piece of their mind as to how stupid that idea was.
  • The HBO take on Perry Mason is getting another season. Just as we're finally getting to see him transition from private dick to defense attorney.
  • Don Don is only opening next year... wake me up when it happens lah
  • If you've not had enough of the new judges, they're bringing back MasterChef Australia Junior
  • Q (the music mag) is closing shop this month.
