Week 8, 2021

Halfway through the CNY celebrations. Weather still kinda hot as balls, even at night. 

They've relaxed the dining restrictions this past week, and yet still nothing on the massage places and beauty-related businesses being able to reopen despite them keeping up hygiene standards even in the before-times. 

• After hearing about the sale of Tesco to Thai company CP last year, they've rebranded to Lotuss. Not sure if there's an apostrophe in there somewhere but ehh.
• NTV7 the channel has made way for the new education channel, which is getting a lot of crap off the bat because someone dunno how to cakap England? 
• Just as they announced a new Hawaii-based NCIS spinoff, we find out that the New Orleans one is not getting renewed. I dunno if they have enough time to write a decent ending since there's been a number of two-parter episodes this season. 
• But Criminal Minds might be coming back from the grave...? (Rumour has it a revival is in the works on paid streaming service Paramount+, FKA CBS All-Access)
• The podcast Reply All is also in a shit puddle of their own after it was revealed that things at Gimlet wasn't any better than Conde Nast/Bon Appetit, who's fallout they've been doing a 4-part series on. I suppose it was a good thing they introduced a third host a little while ago because one of the founding co-hosts has left the show. But no idea who's gonna take over doing the BA story because that person also stepped down from this kerfuffle. 
• There's now a newly-approved COVID testing method, which involves something Asian people are good at - hocking up loogies. 
• Of course Pizza Hut Singapore would put out a pizza topped with boba pearls, marshmallows, cheese with a brown sugar milk tea sauce.
