Finally found the time to go watch Guy Ritchie's Wrath of Man months after it was released just about everywhere else (local release was a couple weeks ago now, I think). It's been out so long, the RunPee app let you view the peetimes for it without spending the in-app currency.
Because it's still CNY and (perhaps) everyone else was watching the CNY releases, it was just me and 3 other people in Jaya's TGV watching this particular movie because the other screenings for this was gonna be later in the day. It was either this or The 355, but the screening times for the latter was even worse because it had been out longer than this one.
It's a revenge story wrapped in a gangster flick with a side of heist movie. Jason Statham's "H" goes infiltrates a money transport company to find out who killed his son.
- I have no idea why the movie is even called Wrath of Man. Thematically, sure, but I guess it rings better than "Wrath of a Man"?
- Wait, so is Andy Garcia's character in H's pocket, or is H the former's CI or something? Do they go way back or something? We know H is in the FBI's watch, but why wasn't he ever arrested at any point in this movie?
- You kinda have to feel bad for H's guys, after having to torture everyone on Andy Garcia's list to find out who killed the kid, only to find out that it was a bunch of bored, disgruntled former vets (who are in it for money) that no one knew about and wasn't on the list.
- It's always the unhinged one of the bunch.
