While most Malaysians (upon hearing that Thor: Love and Thunder was eventually banned in Malaysia for certain themes that the gahmen don't agree with), used that excuse to go to other countries to watch it. A lot of Malaysians have gone to Singapore, which despite its own views on the LGBTQIA+ community, is screening it.
While catching this in the cinema was the first thing on the to-do list for Malaysians, this was one of the last things to do on my list in my usual quick jaunt there because I had no time for it to be the first thing to do there. It's also been YEARS since I saw a movie in another country.
So miraculously managed to wake up (even with a sleep aid and first-gen antihistamine), got myself (and the things) together, checked out pretty early (9 something?), and huffed and puffed my way to Shaw Cinemas Jewel to catch the 10.30 a.m. screening. I only got there at 10.30 a.m. and of course they were still on ads and trailers. I guess the staff there didn't bat an eye about the luggage cos they know where they are and all, but I did pick a seat with space for everything I'm carrying. There was some interesting trailers that I'm not sure I would've seen back home maybe? There's probably fewer than 10 people in the room; Malaysians too? I dunno.
- Laughed so hard at: the song choices (especially the Enya), and the giant screaming goats. I don't think I'll never not laugh at even the thought of the screaming goats.
- Also laughed so hard at how Korg's species' procreate. Is that why it's banned in Malaysia?
- Jamie Alexander's return to the MCU as Sif was (at best) a glorified cameo, she had so little screentime. But we all knew why she wasn't in the last movie...Them going on about the technicalities of going to Valhalla was so 3 8; "Your arm is probably in Valhalla" LOL OMG someone please give her an arm next movie.
- Yup, saw the Hemsworth butt crack.
- Practically the entire Hemsworth clan is in this movie - wife, kids, brother (not Liam)...
- Okaylah, I didn't know Russell Crowe was doing a Greek accent LOL
- The second stinger was like "awww..."
- Makes sense that everyone's kids would be in the movie as the captured New Asgardian children, even the director's, haha.
- NGL, Astrid sounds like a girl's name and can understand why the kid would rather be Axel.
- You can tell by the teeth that it's really Christian Bale in there.
