Amsterdam

Found time to go catch Amsterdam while it's still in cinemas. Sadly (or not), there were only me and 2 other people in the room watching the day's first screening. I was so late, I was in my seat not all that long when the movie started at 11 a.m., after about 15 minutes of ads and trailers.

Apparently it's (loosely?) based on an alleged conspiracy called the Business Plot, where a cabal of rich tycoons tried to overthrow the president for a dictatorship by planting a puppet dictator or something. So bananas.

  • Forgot Taylor Swift was in this, but I don't think this movie is gonna get the Swiftie demographic because she wasn't even on screen all that long.
  • Had no idea Ed Begley Jr was in this too until I saw the credits LOL
  • Been seeing a lot of Bale of late, I just noticed.
  • Mike Myers got some good glass eye acting going
  • "Do you need me, or do you choose me?"
  • Because it's set in 1933, of course the anti-miscegenation laws are (perhaps) still in place.
  • Now when you see Rami Malek in a movie, you know I know he gonna be the big bad lah
NGL, kinda funny for what it is. But it's an acquired taste. I thought it was fine.
