The Grind Burger Bar, Section 17

Finally got round to trying out The Grind Burger Bar in Section 17 (which opened last month), located the same row as Kanna Curry House (business as usual even with ongoing renovations) and I'm Spicy. Parking was bearable. Was there for dinner with the sibling, who had already tried the standard pork burger before but was enough of a sport to tag along again.

When we got there around 8 p.m., it was busy but a good busy, you know? Found a table pretty quickly, but it took a little while to get someone's attention so that we could order. I got the pork JD Burger (with Jack Daniels sauce, actual streaky piggy bacon, fries and some greens) while the sibling ordered the Big Black Dog (pork sausage topped with pork chilli on black charcoal bun). If there was WiFi available, it didn't happen when we were there.

Big Black Dog (RM16)
JD Burger (RM18)
Burger was edible and the pork patty tasted fine to me. The herb-ed fries had a subtle flavour and there wasn't enough dip (same recipe as myBurgerLab's, but less spicy) to go with the fries. That was my only niggle.

I usually suck at finishing whole burgers and fries in one sitting, but this time I managed to finish; either I was really hungry and I didn't know it, or they got the portion right :p

Stray observations:
  • Figured why it's not as crazy crowded as mBL up the road - pork. Which was just as well, otherwise it'd be crazy crowded and the parking situation would be way worse.
  • With table side services comes... 10% service charge. This is why tipping is not a thing in Malaysia :P
  • Drinks a bit overpriced. Both of us had sky juice.
Open lunch and dinner, Tuesdays to Sundays
