Week 47, 2019

Year end school holidays have started this weekend, so you'll see a lot of kids in costumes in places where there's a cineplex because freaking FROZEN 2 IS OUT.
  • Ahmad Idham got busted big time when people found out that he/Finas is working with an "ethical streaming platform" (whatever that means) when he (as a rep for Finas) called for Netflix content to be censored last week. Talk about one huge prawn behind the rock, man.
  • Selangor gahmen is paying money for married Selangor residents under 40 to attend a marriage course, at least RM300 each.
  • People, get your credit cards ready - Sephora has announced their Black Friday sale next weekend. In Malaysia. But it's only 15% (as opposed to the usual 20% during member's sale), so YMMV. Or stick to the not-so huge wishlist items.
  • Big Bad Wolf Books has also released their preview passes. Of course they're also having contests to give them away. I might have one coming my way, so fingers crossed. When I do, will definitely be applying for leave, haha.
  • Inside Scoop started their anniversary celebrations this week - got my RM3 scoops of ice cream at the local outlet nearby.
  • I didn't know the Jim Jefferies's show wasn't getting picked up for another season. I guess Comedy Central doesn't want to fund his touring field pieces?
  • Charlie's Angels movie reboot was okay, but I don't think there'll be a sequel. So sad.
  • In conjunction with The Rise of Skywalker release, Twitter has launched themed emoji.
  • McDonald's is reissuing classic Happy Meal toys. The only thing I don't like about this campaign is that you don't know which toys you're getting instead of the usual release schedule. I'm curious as to the Tamagotchi works or not.
  • Got my prize from Vulcan Post (and Ogawa) on Friday (from a FB contest) - an Ogawa USB-powered, lavender-scented, heated eye mask. I don't know how long the smell will last.
  • Also got a couple of RM10 Tedboy vouchers from completing their members' survey from I don't know when. Always a nice surprise.
  • IKEA Malaysia finally jumped on the brown sugar pearl milk craze. A little late for that, personally. Tastes okay for the price (RM6.50). And the straw is made of sugar cane fibre, so if you don't have straws for your boba...
  • The VS Fashion Show has been cancelled, mostly due to its own baggage (which you can Google). I will miss the spectacle of it all. And them crazy oversized wings.
  • I didn't know you can change the notification sound in Shopee - when they sent a email detailing how to change it to Ronaldo, I just took the chance and killed it altogether.
  • You know they rich AF when Coldplay announced that they won't be touring for "environmental reasons". Just pay for the carbon offset lah, dipshits. Because of this, I pirated their latest album (Everyday Life) which came out on Friday (also because I haven't seen it in stores yet). Haven't heard it through yet.
