Had been waffling about watching this because I find the third movie of any MCU solo character-based movie series always leave me like, "do I want to watch this?"
Anyhow, caught the early bird screening cos I rather pay RM15 than RM23 to watch it later. There were only some ads left by the time I got to my seat, that's how late I got there. Because it's also an MCU movie you know you gonna have to add on at least 10 minutes after the movie ends for stingers, so...
- Considering this whole movie is about them wandering the Quantum Realm looking for each other, I can see how they can't squeeze in the ex-con buddies. Wouldn't mind a third installment of Luis's long winded stories.
- So Scott Lang is the MCU David Sedaris?
- I suppose once Goldblum is in the MCU, why not Bill Murray?
- They really shoehorned in Corey Stoll, coming back in this third movie as MODOK.
- You kinda have to feel bad for the young lady who was Cassie in Endgame - not even getting the heads up about being fired.
- I'm not sure a Quantum Realm with hyper intelligent ants is also such a good idea, guys...
- I dunno if all the Kang variants are actually Jonathan Majors or if they're digitally created. If it was the former, they're not paying him enough.
- Props to the stunt people for making Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas look good in their action scenes?
Conclusion: This movie sets up Kang as this new phase (Phase 5, I believe?)'s Big Bad for the next Avengers movie. Watching this in the cinema is kind of optional; you could watch it when it's on streaming (read: Disney+)
