Week 9, 2023

Weekend project was mostly me trying to get coffee stains and scuff marks off a Longchamp nylon bag without it blistering or bubbling with whatever I got lying around the house for such an occasion (I refuse to buy this TikTok famous Mexican soap that's basically tallow and serai). Some YouTube-rs say you can put it in the washing machine, but on delicate setting, cold water, etc. I mostly got by with using the Japanese blue soap (the bar that you use for collar stains, etc) and a couple other stain removers, cold tap water, old toothbrush and elbow grease... think I got a bunch of the scuff marks off, but it's kinda hard to tell if what you're doing is working until it dries somewhat. Best news is no bubbling...yet. Still haven't tried all this on a fake that my mother uses from time to time, but maybe that one I can toss in the washing machine as a control LOL

  • Saw Russell Peters on Monday night.
  • RIP Munch
  • Saw Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Saturday morning, but I think you can either watch it when it's on streaming later, or read the Wikipedia to save 2.5 hours of your time.
  • It was finally announced this week that Muse will do a one-stop Asia tour, and it's happening in KL, with tickets going on sale next week. I imagine there's gonna be a mad rush for them even for the members' presale. Still no idea where in KL or which stadium, but I'm hoping it's a better maintained stadium with decent parking and/or public transport options.
  • Daniel Sloss and Jim Gaffigan are also making stops in Singapore within weeks of each other, but at Mediacorp's on campus theatre space, kinda in the middle of nowhere.
  • Checked out Cziplee's mega clearance sale at the Bangsar store on the first day, and I didn't get anything for myself (I just waltzed in). Even though they've replenished in the following days, seeing the queue to go in, I was like, nope. Apparently the box sale also damn laku, especially if you're looking to replenish art supplies.
  • Took Irvins long enough to finally open Lazada and Shopee stores for the Malaysia market.
  • Was wondering when Scott Adams is getting cancelled for the bigoted things he's been spewing for the last erm, 10 years (at least)? This past week more papers are dropping the Dilbert strip for fresh shit he said on a livestream, and he's bitching about it. Talk about white privilege.
